“ Gumbo. Gumbo. Gumbo. Gumbo. Gumbo. Gumbo. Gumbo. Gumbo. Gumbo. Gumbo. Gumbo. Seafood Gumbo. Gumbo. Gumbo. Gumbo. Gumbo. I ordered the Gumbo. The Seafood Gumbo. It was delicious. I went with a friend who went to college in New Orleans. He said get the Gumbo. The Seafood Gumbo. We also split a Po Boy. It was half catfish and half shrimp. He had the shrimp half and I the other. Get the Gumbo. The Seafood Gumbo. ”
“ Out here visiting from the bay and took upon ourselves to give this place a try after the rave reviews. The food was definitely a hit! She; creole pasta and gumbo. Her; gumbo Me; fried snapper, red beans and rice and a mac and cheese, and an order of garlic butter noodles. Everything cooked to perfection. Service needs a little help because a smile could go a long way. Ambience was mellow and my window seat made it warm! I will give it a try when I return, more menu items to be tried! ”
“ I'm no expert on Creole food but this was amazing. My favorites were the blackened catfish and red pepper cabbage. The gumbo has a tiny bit of heat and has plenty of seafood. A diner next to us recommended next time we ask for rice on the side because then you get more seafood. The cabbage was a suggestion from our server and we're glad we got it. Mac is also good, just make sure to eat that right when it comes out. We also got the dirty rice which I had never had before. We didn't know what the Valentine's Day Cornbread was going to be like, and we were pleasantly surprised when it was a sweet dessert kind. The peach cobbler butter it comes with is next level. We went on a rainy day and they were still decently busy on a Wednesday, especially with takeout orders. Parking was pretty easy whether it's side street neighborhood parking or metered parking on Pico. Will definitely be back to try more such as the fried chicken and pastas. ”
“ I'm not joking when I say that my meal here literally revived me! I came here on a chilly Friday night looking for a nice, hot bowl of gumbo and walked out with my heart and stomach full. I highly recommend dining in and soaking in the ambience and amazing hospitality/service. I ordered a small bowl of their famous seafood gumbo and the chicken seafood combo plate (mind you this was a lot of food for one but I was ready to eat). The chocolate chip banana cornbread and the blueberry cornbread were served warm with a side of honey butter. These were so unique and delicious, I wanted to take a dozen home to-go. The gumbo was so comforting and full of flavor and spice. They don't skimp of the seafood either. The small bowl was filled to the brim with sausage, king crab, chicken, and shrimp! I love Alaskan king crab so this was a treat. The fried chicken here was absolutely amazing and would bring me back here alone. Do not sleep on the red pepper cabbage and mac & cheese! They were both the perfect sides for the chicken. The fried catfish bites were crispy, tender, piping hot, and delicious with I think was blackened ranch. And to top it all off, the peach cobbler truly blew me away. Served in a warm bowl, a la mode. I usually don't like fruit pie but this was the perfect balance of crust to filling. A must-order! ”
“ Great food. Great dessert. Seafood gumbo came with some fresh high-quality seafood. They have some of the best fried chicken I've had in LA as the fried chicken had a perfect exterior crispiness and was perfectly tender and juicy inside. Catfish creole was easily my favorite dish and by itself is a complete meal with amazing catfish that comes with a delicious sauce and it comes with tasty rice and two sides. Their beignets were amazing. Great, attentive, and helpful service. Nice atmosphere. I don't know much about you Stevie but what I do know is that you serve some fantastic food! ”
“ An historic establishment in downtown LA, this place serves up classic New Orleans style, creole classics such as gumbo, smothered pork chops and catfish. We got the Creole Catfish, beignets, the Fried Chicken, cornbread, and the gumbo. Everything tasted excellent, and harkened back to my trips to New Orleans to visit friends in the area. The service was hospitable and quick, and I was seated right away. A memorable experience and a taste of Creole in our very own City of Angels--what a treat! ”
“ Giving Stevie's a 4 due to service. I found myself waiting around for assistance. It did not feel like the waiter or front desk person was very attentive. But!!!! They could have been busy with other things I don't know. The food was all delicious( especially the seafood gumbo) I don't know it was so small inside but that was not a problem. There are seats outside that you can also sit in. All and all nice place I would definitely come back. :-) ”
